POLISH CUP
IDSF INTERNATIONAL OPEN LATIN
IDSF OPEN STANDARD

On Sudany the temperature in the Bemowo Sports Hall was surely raised by the youth tournament in Latin. 50 young pairs competed in the stiff air to get to the next round. It was very pleasant to watch the competition between Polish silver medalists Zora Korylov with Marta Sztobryn and Pawel Wolanski with Kasia Swirska - the hosts.

Żora i Marta             Paweł i Kasia

Kasia with Pawel turned out (for the second time) to be a bit better. The pair from Belarus - Ania Ginko with Dymitrij Nikolajew was third.
Magda Soszyńska

In the afternoon we had IDSF in amateur Latin. This is a competition among experienced dancers. The first round goes by according to the rules without 12 pairs that qualify to the top 48 with the so called stars. These are the top 12 pairs according to IDSF standing. Among them Marcin Hakiel with Magda Soszynska who had just come to Warsaw from Saint Petersburg tournament.

Wśród I am looking for the potential winners among Polish pairs, except the youth pairs who had enough strength to participate in the second tournament that day. I see full of life, as usual, Norbert Mika and Paulina Leszczynska, experienced Marcin Niewiadomski with Kasia Zurawska, student champions Marcin Zawislak with Kasia Kot, and as always lovely Aganieszka Pomorska with Michal Skawinski.

It is going to be a perfomance on a very high level. They do not disappoint us. The tournament is on a really high level. I was delighted with our youth who kept up with both Polish and foreign amateurs till the semifinals. Being a very hospitable nation we left the finals to pairs from Russia, Germany, Lithuenia and The Czech Republic.
The winners were: Nikolai Voronovich with Maria Nikolichina , the second Evgenij Imrekov with Elena Kalugina, the third Ilia Svintsov with Liubov Bondareva - all from Russia.
Two days of dancing fiesta were an excellent commencement of the dance season in Warsaw. Very efficient organization. Results continually updated in the Internet thanks to Adam Socik. Professional and very elegant announcing by Danusie Wota.

Two days of dancing fiesta were an excellent commencement of the dance season in Warsaw. Very efficient organization. Results continually updated in the Internet thanks to Adam Socik. Professional and very elegant announcing by Danusia Wota. Two refreshment bars open till the very end of the tournament. Nice people. Competent service everywhere. All these are factors that let us hope international events on a very high level can be organized in Poland. I hope the preparations for the Polish Cup 2004 have already begun. We count on you.
